It features a compact size, is thin as a regular USB thumb drive. Inside the box, we've got the manual which is probably more like a quick start guide. There's also a bag that contains a mount kit and installation tools for the M.2 SSD. Unlike other inexpensive enclosures, the Pinrui features a full-metal housing for optimal heat dissipation. The enclosure adopts two solid male USB connectors: a Type-C 3.1 Gen2 and a USB 3.0. The device's controller is Realtek RTL9210B which offers dual protocol support: M.2 NVMe (M KEY, B+M KEY) and M.2 SATA (B+M KEY). I used a BlitzWolf BW-NV2 NVMe SSD 256GB to test the Pinrui enclosure. My laptop's Type-C 3.1 port supports up to 5Gbps (625MB/s). In speedtest I measured 427 MB/s read and 415 MB/s write. In USB-A port the speeds are almost same. Took less than 10 seconds to copy a 2GB file onto the BlitzWolf M.2 SSD. The enclosure and BlitzWolf M.2 SSD met their hardware specifications. In power consumption tests I measured a max of 1.66W (5.06/0.33A). In stand-by mode it draws only 0.55W (5.10V/0.11A). If you want an affordable M.2 SSD enclosure which offers compatibility with NVMe (PCIe) and NGFF (SATA) protocols, then I highly recommend getting the PINRUI enclosure. Performance, specs and build quality are pretty decent for it's price. For more information on the product check also my in-depth review-test video (in the video section).
